Girls

It’s so refreshing to see a TV-series with real, (un?)cool girls.  “Girls” is a comedy about 20-something girls in New York, living the dream one mistake at a time. Aka not airbrushed like “Sex and the City”. Hilarious! About weird relationships, unpaid internships (we have all been there!), guys that aren’t good for you and job interviews. Highly entertaining.

The show is written by Lena Dunham, who also plays the main character Hannah. It is co-produced by Judd Apatow. And recently got the praise of Brett Easton Ellis on Twitter, and Jimmy Kimmel, amongst others.

“Girls” is in the same category as “Freaks and Geeks”, the TV show that first made James Franco, Seth Rogen and Jason Segel famous, by Judd Apatow. Unfortunately that series only lasted one season, but it is one of my favourites of all times! Actually one of the actresses from there, the one who plays Lindsey’s mom, is Hannah’s mom in “Girls”. Let’s hope “Girls” get offered more seasons on HBO!

I suggest you check out both of these if you have a bit of a nerdy sense of humour, like me.
